As I start a new chapter in my life, I have the feeling God is preparing me for something greater than myself. My prayer is that as I grow and post that you might feel the same way...but in your own life.

I saw God...at the top of Mt. Pinnacle
For starters...I know its been a while since I have posted last. College life is beginning to catch up with me. Yesterday, myself along with a small group of friends went hiking at Mount Pinnacle. We got there around 4:30 that afternoon and the weather was perfect...for the people wearing shorts. I, unfortunately, decided it might get cold so I wore my jeans....it wasn't cold. In fact, partially due to my being out of shape, I broke a little bit of a sweat. We started our climb and immediately I realized this wasn't going to be a walk in the park. The jokes began to come out of each of our mouths. In order to cope with the burning occuring in our thighs and calves...we thought laughter would be a good machanism. It worked for the most part. Finally, after hiking over rocks and rugged terrain, we reached the top and instantly, the pain I felt in my legs was gone. You see, earlier that morning my twitter status read, "Today I will find the grace of God at the top of Mt. Pinnacle." That was exactly what happened. When I reached the top of the mountian and looked out towards the west where the sun was setting, I saw the grace. It was breathtaking. As I was taking it all in, one of the girls that was with me made a comment of how beautiful God is. In that moment, I pulled out my iPod and began to play songs such as "Always" by Kristian Stanfill and "How He Loves" by David Crowder. In the midst of all the challenges of this life, God revealed Himself in a different way on top of Mt. Pinnacle. A close friend of mine brought out her Bible while we were worshiping and singing "Glorious Day" by Casting Crowns. She told me to read what she had read. I took the Bible and read Psalm chapter 8. The words were perfect for what we were feeling. "O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen—even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!" So now, after worshipping God on the top of a mountian and seeing the work of His fingers as the sun set over the horizon, I can say "I saw God at the top of Mt. Pinnacle."
